One of my favorite young and vastly under-appreciated artists on DA is
:iconbethywilliams:

Her work is amazingly detailed, full of mystery and magic, as well as being cheerful, spontaneous, and invigorating. I recently had the opportunity to acquire one of her amazing original pieces done in watercolor and micron pen. It was teleported to me only yesterday in a huge packing crate full of soft protective materials and a few bonus postcards. It's this one, to be exact:

Girl Building a Fire by bethywilliams

The (small) image here on DA doesn't do the work justice. You'd have to see it in real life to really appreciate the fine detail -- every little ray of sunshine, every scale on the celestial snake, every strand of hair.

When I first opened the package to view the 5 by 7 piece upon arrival, I had to just stop and stare for minutes on end, ogling every line and wash. In the flesh, it's so detailed and finely worked it honestly looks like a color etching.

And, as if beauty and detail weren't enough, like all of her work, it contains mysterious writing. It seems related to Avestan (if you're into that sort of thing en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avestan_… ) but it's even more mysterious and more ancient, and more powerful, so I haven't deciphered it yet myself. Ah, everyone needs a fresh piece of new art that comes equipped with a "two-pipe problem" for the alien paleographer...

Please take a few moments to go out and view a whole gallery of remarkable pictures:
