This past weekend was very busy. Aside from still going full-steam ahead on the top secret projects during every waking hour, except the little slices of time when I snuck onto DA for quick peek at what Krazysidhe is up to... it was a weekend of long drives and music.

First on the agenda was Cançonier in Berkeley. (Well, technically the concert was in Albany, CA, at St Alban's [link] famous for its stained glass and proximity to Starbuck's.) Some readers may recall that in my journal I reported on their "Vlad" show last fall. Well, they're back. It was a wonderful show of medieval German music... [link] (By the time you get there, they might have changed the "next event" blurb, but what we heard on Saturday night included Hildegaard von Bingen, Oswald Wolkenstein and friends from the pre-renaissance. Incidentally, in June they are apparently going to release a CD of their (in)famous "Vlad" show, so people are already lining up to get it.

Then, on Sunday afternoon, believe it or not, I saw PDQ Bach [link] live in San Francisco at Herbst Theater. I've always wanted to see him, and finally got the chance. (The new "Jekyll and Hyde Tour", as it's billed, may not be his absolute best, but it was a funny afternoon well spent with a long-time idol of mine.)
:lmao:

The only problem with both of these concerts was the one-hour drive on either end of each concert so, all in all, it was not a very green weekend, and I feel guilty about that, so I'll probably stay around Santa Banana for a while, holding in my carbon emissions.

We really must perfect the teleportation device. ;) Or strengthen our minds enough that we can do it with a Ooommm, a blink of the eye and a wiggle of our noses. ^_~

Yes! Teleportation! Knowing our universe, however, it would probably be more polluting than oil. Nose-wiggling, however, is probably entropically neutral, so to speak... ;-)

Physic pollution, everyone popping in and out here and there, falling on top of each other, exploding into each other in mid air. It would be a chaotic mess! And all that nose wiggling, man... people would start developing little twitches and itches that they couldn't control until their noses would start wiggling on their own. Then you'd have people who would start popping in and out of their houses at night while they slept because of their facial twitches. Though I suppose people popping themselves into oblivion is one way to deal with over population.

OMG! That really gave me a laugh. Wow, I guess people don't think about how chaotic it would be. Thanks for warning me before I hit the switch to turn on nose-wiggling in your universe!

*grins* I guess we'll just have to settle from some other--probably less entertaining--form of chaos.

Ah, yes, we have some of those... Like random oil spills in the gulf of Mexico. :-( OK, sorry! I tried to be uplifting!

No offense, but I really do think you.... failed on the uplifting. Though it almost works well as a pun in tandem with the oil spill.

Sorry! I know, the oil spill is rather more upwelling (from the ocean floor) than uplifting...

Don't feel too guilty, one must feed the soul to be happy. :)

Thanks! That's right... Also, I don't drive much because I don't commute to work, so maybe I'm still ahead of average...
